Once more with feeling...
The beginnings of Rock Paintball began years before at nearly the same time as the game of paintball itself. The field located at 197 Sandown Road, Fremont, NH has been in use for pursuit sports since 1984 with a loyal cadre of players.

The field originally was used for paintball and laser tag, with many of those games consisting of nothing more than "tag" and simple "capture the flag" games. Experiments with other forms of equipment were plentiful, as players were always willing to try new ways of utilizing the idea of tag at a distance for games. From Frisbees to Nerf guns to golf balls with slingshots (don't try this at home... seriously) there has always been a drive for having fun and involving lots of action and keeping cost low.

The wish...
While working at another field called Triad Paintball Games in Kingston, NH in the late 1990s, IcemanNH began to think of opening up his own private area to the public. When the decision was made by Triad Paintball Games to close down TPG in 1999, the idea to open up the Fremont property as Rockingham Paintball Club was born. From Milsim games to Stock Class days to just plain ol' Woodsball, the field has hosted all types of paintball games.

Phases...
The first "official" season at RPC was full of Mags, Tippmanns and Angels as the field went from "backyard" play to a "real" field. Scrub brush and deer paths became walled bunkers and a marked trail system. By the end of the first season RPC, or The Rock as it was affectionately called by the regulars, was up and running.

Beginning in the official 2nd season of the field, airsoft made its own official debut at The Rock. As more airsofters found "the fun field up in NH", airsoft grew larger and began to draw in many old paintballers looking for something new. As paintball went more mainstream however, players not interested in anything other than competitive speedball and fields gave RPC a pass, until most paintball games dwindled to single digits. Eventually, RPC decided to put paintball on hiatus with only sporadic games in between airsoft events until the eventual tide turned and folks hopefully headed back to the woods.

No place like home...
Over time, paintball went from pump, to semi, to electro. Games went from woods to speedball and now are going back to woods. Stock class, once an odd site is common place around the world. Even tactical Milsim style paintball, once derided by the general player has become more common place. As a consequence of this, many in the paintball industry answered with a plethora of different paintball guns more in line with the woodsball mentality, some even coming magazine feed, as players began to place strategy ahead of volume. And it is there that The Rock started to come back to the beinning.

The Rock, like its namesake has endured by changing with the times. Now an old field is new and Rock Paintball is back. An industry leader in safety and game play, Rock Paintball has undergone many changes while remaining New Hampshire's field for safe, fun and fair paintball games!
